Returns and Warranty

At The Vintage Jewellery Co., each piece is carefully inspected and photographed prior to dispatch. As we specialise in vintage and pre-loved jewellery, our pieces may show signs of age and previous wear.

We believe these characteristics are part of what makes vintage jewellery unique, and we aim to clearly disclose any significant wear, damage or imperfections in our product descriptions and imagery.

30- Day Return

We offer a 30-day return period for change-of-mind purchases.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, without alteration, damage or additional wear.

Customers are responsible for the cost and safe return of change-of-mind purchases. We require items to be returned via Express Post with signature on delivery and tracking due to the value and unique nature of our jewellery.

Once the item has been received and inspected, a full refund of the purchase price will be issued to the original payment method, provided the item has been returned in its original condition.

Original shipping costs are not refundable for change-of-mind returns.

3 Month Warranty

In addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, we provide a three-month warranty against faults arising from reasonable wear and normal use.

If an issue occurs within three months of purchase, please contact us before arranging any repairs yourself.

We will arrange for the piece to be assessed by our jeweller to determine the likely cause of the issue and the most appropriate solution.

Where the issue is determined to be a fault covered by our warranty, we will cover the reasonable cost of repair.

If the piece cannot reasonably be repaired, we will work with you to provide an appropriate alternative with you.

Reasonable Wear

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse or wear beyond what would reasonably be expected from normal use.

This may include damage caused by impact, crushing, catching or pulling; bent or damaged claws or settings; chains that have been caught or pulled; damage resulting from inappropriate wear or care; or repairs or alterations performed by another jeweller after purchase.

Vintage and antique jewellery requires additional care due to its age. Normal signs of age and wear that were disclosed or visible at the time of purchase are not considered faults.

Organising a Warranty Assessment

Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide return instructions.

Items should be securely packaged and sent via Express Post with tracking and signature on delivery.

Customers may initially be asked to cover the cost of returning an item for assessment. Where the item is confirmed to have a fault covered by Australian Consumer Law, reasonable return postage costs will be reimbursed.

Where a repair is covered by our warranty, we will return the repaired item to you via tracked, signature-required shipping at our cost.

We will provide an estimated repair timeframe once the piece has been assessed.
