Antique Bridge Ring
A 9ct yellow gold, antique trilogy ring with bright green stones. Referred to as a London Bridge Ring, this late-Victorian-early-Edwardian style features ornate swirls carved into the "London Bridge" setting- the quintessential design of the period.
Pieces is this style often feature a mix of Diamonds with coloured gemstones, and this ring has x4 Diamonds and x3 Green stones, which- while shining brightly like an Emerald- are in fact an antique method of imitation, referred to as Garnet Topped Doublets. They helped make beautiful, bright coloured gemstones more accessible to the public, and are a sign of times gone by.
While only noticeable to the trained eye, the price of this ring still reflects the use of these imitations, making it an absolute steal for a bit the Emerald-toned bling.
